Thailand is introducing (or approving) a “Lemon Law” framework via a bill on liability for defective goods, approved by the Cabinet on June 16, 2026. The law is intended to strengthen consumer protection by requiring remedies when goods are defective.
If enacted in a way that expands/clarifies manufacturer or seller liability for defective goods, it could increase Apple’s and/or authorized retailers’ obligations to provide repairs, replacements, or refunds beyond what AppleCare+ covers. AppleCare+ may still remain relevant for handling service under Apple’s contractual plan, but the baseline consumer rights for defective devices could reduce reliance on extended-warranty products or require alignment of AppleCare+ terms with statutory remedies in Thailand.
